Doral Moore – (Stockbridge, Ga.), – ATL Xpress – 2015
Height: 7′
Position: Center
Committed College: Wake Forest
Date: June 19, 2014
Evaluator: Brandon Clay
Location: NBPA Top 100 Camp (Charlottesville, Va.)
Moore played here similar to our October eval in that he ran the floor consistently while changing and altering shots on the interior. He is in good shape for a prospect his size at the high school level. Moore is still progressing with having the basketball in his hands in a half court set. In that way a classmate like Daniel Giddens (GA) is more advanced in that regard.

Moore is great with space. You can throw it up to him off the ball screen or in transition and he will punch it. He is not an overly physical post player, especially with his stature. However, he will mix it up on the interior with physicality.

Moore is best in the side ball screen situation where he can screen the defense & then fly hard to the hoop for alley-oop passes. That sums up his athleticism & length that he brings to the court. He still has some polishing to do with his skill & decision making. At times he plays too fast, but there are very few players in America that possess his size and skill.

The 7 foot post player had a tough outing tonight as he picked up 2 fouls quickly in the first quarter which relegated him to the bench. However, what he did show in the few minutes of play was impressive. He caught the ball one step outside the block turned over his left shoulder and hit a half hook to the baseline side. The very next possession he caught the ball and immediately fanned when he read the double team. He has some maturing to do when it comes to his understanding of the game as he picked up 2 more fouls quickly in the third quarter that were completely unnecessary. He has the frame and skill to be very impactful, but we will have to wait and see if he can piece it help with geometry all together.

Moore is a legitimate sized post option. He struggles offensively right now to finish consistently but made an impact cleaning the glass here. Moore’s ability to contest shots, run the floor and finish at the rim with authority makes him a player to watch over the long haul.
