Jaylen Fisher – (Millington, Tenn.), Team Thad – 2016
Height: 6′
Position: Point Guard
Committed College: UNLV
Star Grade:
Date: June 18, 2015
Evaluator: Brandon Clay
Location: NBPA Top 100 Camp (Charlottesville, Va.)
Fisher is a point guard who is a true distributor. He is willing to get the ball to his teammates, while at the same time being able to score when the situation dictates. His release is clean and he is able to get his jumper off around the ball screen.

Fisher is a left-handed dominant point guard with the bounce but a right-handed shooter. He had a great weekend attacking whoever was in his way. Fisher’s ability to push the tempo of the floor was noteworthy. He scored from the outside but isn’t a specialist in that way based on this eval.

Fisher handled the ball well at the point guard spot. He’s smooth and made a nice split on the pick and roll to get into the lane. He was more of a distributor here than anything else. Fisher didn’t shoot the ball here as well as he did in Shun’s eval below.

Fisher is a great distributror of the basketball. He has great vision to set up his teammates in perfect places. He is pretty quick both with the ball in his hands on the defensive end. He anticipates the play, which allows him to make plays that he would otherwise be unable to make. Fisher will make jumpers. He will take them. However, he has a hitch in his release which will ultimately prevent him from being a knockdown shooter.

Fisher played off the ball mainly playing alongside Naba Echols (TN-15). Given his size and style of play, I see Fisher as a primary ball handler at the level so this eval is incomplete.

Location: Bob Gibbons (Suwanee, Ga.)
Fisher is a supreme ball handler and keeps the ball on the string. He can get to where ever he wants to go with the ball in his hands. He is a willing passer and does a great job of setting up his teammates.

Evaluator: Shun Williams
Location: KnoxVegas (Knoxville, Tenn.)
Fisher impressed with his speed and quickness in the open court and ability to beat his defender off the dribble. His first step is a blur and he can be at the rim scoring with a pull up jumper or finish strong through contact. Fisher uses a variety of dribble moves to get into the lane. He displayed a mid-range game that included a pull up jumper going to his left. Court vision is another asset of Fisher. He can find an open teammate with ease as he penetrates and draws two or three defenders. He is an above average shooter with range that extends beyond the three point line
