Strengths
Middleton does a lot of things well on the offensive end of the floor. She can make the open 3-point shot, hit the mid-range jumper and finish with either hand at the rim. Middleton is a major reason why Riverdale High (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) is considered one of the nation’s elite high school programs. The four-star prospect is versatile enough to play stretches of the game at the point guard position. She senior research papers played there primarily during the USA Basketball Trials last May more than holding her own against some of the nation’s best at the guard position. Defensively, Middleton is a quality defender with the skill to play the passing lane or give space depending on what the scouting report reads.
Area To Improve
Going forward, Middleton’s willingness to take and knock down the mid-range off the one dribble pull-up will be crucial to her continued development. She’s skilled enough to make that a consistent senior research paper part of her offensive arsenal and will need it as teams start to key in on running her off of the 3-point line.
The Bottom Line
Middleton has a knack for scoring the basketball. She’s a capable ball handler who uses the dribble well already in the open floor. Her ability to knock down the open shot makes the game easier for the other four players around her to get quality looks.
