Coming off of a great showing in Minnesota, Coffey was steady again here doing more damage around the rim than we have seen previously. He’s a long, lanky guy capable of being effective in the 8 to 12 foot range even hitting a couple of tough left-handed floaters here during camp.

Coffey was flat out impressive here today. He didn’t shy away from contact. His versatility was do my homework how good is write my papers on full display as he played the top of the zone, showed great vision on the perimeter and attacked the rim to finish. If Coffey can display consistent shooting range, he is arguably the nation’s premier swingman in the class.

Coffey acted as a “point-forward” here today. His vision and body control are exceptional. His length and ball handling skills, put you in the mind of former NBA great, Jalen Rose. It doesn’t hurt that he is a lefty like Rose. Much like Rose, he doesn’t have explosiveness, but his ability to anticipate puts critical essay him in the elite category. It will interesting to see if in fact Coffey continues this lead guard role or if he embraces the wing position.

Coffey is a smooth left-handed wing player. He was at his best in the open floor today as his outside shot struggled to fall. His style of play and lanky frame remind me of NBA veteran Tayshaun Prince. He passes the ball well for his size. That said he throws the ball with his left hand going both to his left and right.

Coffey is a long wing. His frame has not matured yet but his long term potential is visible. He moves well especially in the open floor. His skill set as a left-handed wing is reminiscent of Tennessee signee A.J. Davis (GA-13) though Coffey is a further ahead skill wise than Davis was at this point in his development.
