Karlie Bearden (Dawsonville, Ga.) – Dawson County – 2016
Bearden had a stellar summer capped off by a 29-point performance against GSB in front of ProspectsNation.com Assistant Director of Scouting, Jonathan Hemingway. The 5-foot-11 wing has quickly become a staple of the Elite Basketball Academy series showing her versatility during the Fab Five Camp over Labor Day Weekend. Her progress was evident on this night as she struggled to shoot it as well as we are accustomed to seeing but found other ways to be effective. Under 10 seconds left, Bearden got fouled and calmly sank two free throws to seal the victory as if she had not missed a shot all night. She’ll be help writing an essay for college on hand for the Elite Basketball Academy Top 40 Workout on March 9th.
Ashley Parker (Dawsonville, Ga.) – Dawson County – 2015
Parker was the key to the Dawson County victory on this night as she knocked down four free throws in the closing minutes of the game. The junior forward continues to grow her game with a combination of sharp shooting and crisp footwork around the rim. On this night, Parker pulled down her 500th rebound of her young career. She’s a classic example of a consistent producer regardless of the setting. Those qualities have endeared her game to our staff over the past two years. Like Bearden, Parker is an Elite Basketball Academy Top 40 Workout invitee.
