Hammonds is a combo forward who can make plays at the top of the key or elbow area. He can score with jumpers or with post ups. His versatility is his strong suit currently. He averaged 18 points per game on the circuit while shooting over 50% from the field. His 8 rebounds per game shows that he can play the frontline and not be afraid of contact.

Hammonds has been the go-to prospect on the Challenge so far this summer. Through 16 EYBL games, he has averaged 18.1 points and 7.9 rebounds. Hammonds has shown touch around the rim to go with legitimate NCAA Tourney program size at the position. He’s shooting 55 percent from the field but can improve the 67 percent from the line and 28 percent from the 3-point line.

Hammonds excelled in this eval. He’s a skilled left-handed option at the forward position. He showed the ability to knock down the open jump shot.

We identified Hammonds a year ago at the OntheRadarHoops.com Fall Showcase as a prospect of great potential. Standing at a lanky 6-7 tall with perimeter skill, Hammonds has the pedigree to be a highly recruited prospect moving into his next years of high school. Right now the forward is most comfortable handling the ball in the open court and with space he can get to the mouth of the rim to finish above the out-stretched arms of defenders in the lane. Watch for him to flourish this season within coach McMillan’s system at Norcross.

Hammond is a left-handed forward with a nice release from the arc. He showed nice footwork in the drill session which allowed him to get his shot off with ease. At 6-4 he is natural wing, but we will need to see if can develop into a SG or a secondary ball handler in the half-court set. He may become a bit undersized to be a true forward in the future.
