Location: Marshall County Hoop Fest (Benton, Ky.)
Maker has a lot of physical tools. He looks awesome in transition when he can run up and down the floor. He simply glides to the rim with ease. His weekend was solid, 10 and 15 points on respective nights to go with 10 and 6 rebounds as well. He did turn it over 9 times in the two nights.

Location: NBPA Top 100 Camp (Charlottesville, Va.)
Maker plays with a consistent energy. Even when he struggles with his skill set execution, Maker’s energy level stays high. He made a catch / rip and go off of the catch on the wing, then attacked to score the ball.

Location: Hoop Hall Classic (Springfield, Mass.)
Maker is positionless. At one point he was called for a 5 second violation because he couldn’t turn the corner on a ball screen. His lack of strength and ability to affect the game was evident against the athleticism of Life Center here today. He finished with 6 points on 1/2 from the field and 4/6 from the FT line. He only grabbed one rebound in the loss.

Evaluator: Brandon Clay
Location: Team Takeover National Hoops Showcase (Hyattsville, Md.)
Maker is making the transition into a full-time perimeter prospect. He is smooth though as Jon noted below still struggles at times with reads / speed of the game. Maker is explosive with the skill to make plays especially in transition.

Maker is a combo forward with some open court handling. He does have some soft touch on the jumper, but he was struggling with some decision making issues this evening. He rebounded the ball effectively grabbing 8 in 21 minutes of play. But overall his lack of strength prevents him from being a primary offensive target. He scored 4 points on 2/5 shooting.

Maker is really coming into his own as a prospect. His length and athleticism make him an elite forward in the class. He’s showing more skill in this eval too facing the basket to score it while running down blocks on the other end.

Maker is a long, slender framed option at the power forward spot. He could play either forward position longterm if his skill set continues to round out. Right now, Matur is showing himself to be both an explosive shot changer and a blocker already.

Matur, like his older brother Thon, is an active/athletic forward who can block shots and defend as well as any of his peers. He did not show a particular offensive specialty. At 6-9, he should have a few inches left to grow before his senior season in high school. Cody Riley (CA-17) may be more productive at this moment than Matur, but Matur definitely has more rounding out left to do. It will be interesting to see how he matures.
