BrandonClayScouting.com Player Evaluations
Date: December 22, 2015
Evaluator: Brandon Clay
Location: City of Palms (Fort Myers, Fla.)
Wesson is a big-bodied post who will have to show continued development in his conditioning to play major minutes at the elite college level. In that way, he reminds me of Kennedy Meeks (UNC) though not as skilled at the same stage. Wesson will run the floor in transition.
Date: December 18, 2015
Evaluator: Jonathan Hemingway
Location: City of Palms (Fort Myers, Fla.)
Wesson’s frame reminds me of Nick Ward (Michigan State signee). He still has some pounds to lose, but he has soft hands and good footwork around the bucket. He hit a trail 3 here tonight in a win over Father Tolton. He finished with 13 points and 6 rebounds.
Date: October 5, 2015
Evaluator: Brandon Clay
Location: USA Mini-Camp (Colorado Springs, Colo.)
Wesson has a feel like Kennedy Meeks did in terms of his build. Wesson isn’t as skilled as Meeks was at the same point but the physical similarities are there.
Date: May 28, 2015
Evaluator: Brandon Clay
Location: USA Basketball U16 Trials (Colorado Springs, Colo.)
Wesson is a big boy in the middle of the paint. He showed touch on a couple of offensive put-backs and runs the floor consistently for a guy his size.
Date: July 14, 2014
Evaluator: Jonathan Hemingway
Location: Nike EYBL Peach Jam (North Augusta, S.C.)
Kaleb is a post player who finishes very well around the bucket. He uses his body to create contact and create angles to score. He is right handed and has soft touch around the paint. He is just an average athlete, with limited lift.
Date: June 14, 2014
Evaluator: Brandon Clay
Location: Nike Elite 100 Camp (St. Louis, Mo.)
Wesson is a space eater on the interior. He lacks a couple inches to be a traditional 5 player on a Top 10 team right now but was productive here. Wesson didn’t showcase a specialty in this eval and lacks explosiveness off of the floor.
