Luke Maye – (Cornelius, N.C.), – Team United– 2015
Height: 6’7″
Position:  Power Forward
Committed College: North Carolina

Date: June 19, 2014
Evaluator: Brandon Clay
Location: NBPA Top 100 Camp (Charlottesville, Va.)
Maye has been productive all spring and this was no different. The camp put an emphasis on four player on the perimeter at almost all times. Maye showed himself capable of handling facing the basket. That said he wasn’t able to create off of the bounce but is a definite option as a ball reversal/secondary break 4 man. He was even in a matchup with classmate Esa Ahmad (OH).

Evaluator: Jonathan Hemingway

Maye gets it done. He scores it, rebounds, defends, hustles, makes outlet passes – generally does a lot of things you want out of your PF position. He multiple 3s in a game early in camp while also showing physicality in the lane. There are not going to be too many forwards in the nation that can stretch the floor while also being a threat to snag double digit rebounds nightly like Maye.

Date: May 24, 2014
Evaluator: Brandon Clay
Location: Nike EYBL (Minneapolis, Minn.)
Maye was as good as Joseph Toye (Vanderbilt commit) in this eval. Maye is a skilled post capable of shooting the ball from the outside, posting and scoring or rebounding to get a putback. He does a little of everything at the power forward position.

Date: May 4, 2014
Evaluator: Jonathan Hemingway
Location: Bob Gibbons Invitational (Suwanee, Ga.)
Maye is a versatile player in that can he bring toughness to the interior with rebounding and scoring or he can score the ball from the arc or facilitate as a passer. He is a brute force who can move bodies out from under the rim. Although he is tall, he doesn’t have terrific length. He does have good feet and hands. The most impressive play of the weekend is when he snatched a rebound & started the break by throwing a 1 handed baseball pass on a line to CJ Bryce for a finish.
