Committed College: Kentucky

Matthews was very productive this weekend as he shot the ball very well from beyond the arc and off of the pull-up jumper. He has a very explosive first step that allowed him to get into the lane to finish. That combination of shooting ability and athleticism allowed him to compete at a high level this past weekend. If there was an area he struggled with was handling the hard hedge on the ball screen. Although he is an essay on my favourite film star salman khan adequate handler, he still has room to grow in that area.

Another elite setting produced similar results for Matthews. He’s a steady wing player with a penchant for hitting the open 3-pointer when left alone. In that regard, he’s been consistent in both high-level evals that I’ve been able to see.

Matthews is a shooting specialist with a slender frame. He made a nice rip and go off of the catch. He’s smooth off the ball and finished it well in transition.

Matthews showed his ability to essay on my favorite game hockey attack the rim in space in the game I watched of him. He moves well without the ball and he demonstrated a high IQ of how to make plays for himself with the ball in his hands.
