Josh Jackson of Detroit, Mich., is one of the better wing scorers in the entire class of 2016. His game has drawn interest from some of the nation’s top programs including in-state powers Michigan and Michigan State amongst others. Here is a BrandonClayScouting.com breakdown on what makes Jackson’s game so special:

Jackson was awesome in a match-up vs. Huntington Prep on night one. He scored 34 points, grabbed 19 rebounds and had 8 assists in a 2OT game vs. Miles Bridges. He asserted himself as the nation’s premier scoring option. He can get his shot at any time and can finish at the hoop with flair. He was 4/13 from 3pt range in two games – so that will be an area to look for growth in his game, given his release is somewhat inconsistent. Jayson Tatum might have a smoother jumper, but Jackson has the edge in athleticism and explosiveness.

Jackson was able to do just about whatever the situation called for here. He is skilled, an elite athlete and projects as a potential one-and-done guard based on his play throughout high school. Jackson’s willingness to continue handling his business off the floor will only help enhance his potential draft stock when he chooses to head to the NBA.

Jackson wasn’t as impressive here as he was in October struggling with frustration due to foul trouble. That said he’s a long slashing option at the wing position capable of getting to the rim and finishing once he gets there.

Jackson can flat out score the basketball. A right-handed shooter, Jackson had one of the quicker/smoother releases in the camp. He shot the 3-pointer and also hit the midrange jumper off of the left hand dribble.
