Moriah Jefferson (TX-12) chooses UConn

In the news yesterday, the nation’s top class of 2012 PG Moriah Jefferson has chosen UConn.  Jefferson is one of the truly unique players on the circuit in that she is home schooled and is already taking college courses at the local school down essays university the street. We talk a lot about having “moments” where you see the greatness in a player.

My Jefferson moment was in Los Angeles last May at the West Coast Premier Invitational. Her DFW 2012 team played Boo Williams top team. The game was scheduled to start at 9:00 pm and my flight was the red-eye at 12.  With LAX about 40 minutes away from the gym, I needed to leave at halftime to make sure I had plenty of time to catch the flight. I told her before the game that I’d see a half before leaving. Halftime essay writing online comes and goes with Jefferson willing her team to a six-point lead. So I decide to stay. The game is back and forth throughout the second half. Jefferson starts to deal with calf cramps in her right leg. Meanwhile led by Tennessee commit and top five 2011 prospect Cierra Burdick, Boo makes a serious push.

To make matters worse, one of DFW’s top players gets a technical and fouls out. The game is even with just under two minutes to go. It’s now 10 and I’m sure I’m going to miss the flight. Jefferson inbounds the ball right by my pay someone to write an essay for you seat and says “I got it.” A basket and four clutch free throws later, Jefferson had led her team to a signature win and fortunately for me, I still found my way to the gate as the final boarding call was being made.
