South Florida Gets a 4 Player
Given the makeup of the 2011-12 roster, South Florida and coach Jose Fernandez appeared to have room for three post players in their 2012 recruiting class. They picked up the first of the three this week in Alisia Jenkins. The 6-foot-1 forward from Statesboro, Georgia has decided to take her talents findings in a research paper to Tampa and play her college ball in the Big East. Jenkins has showed consistently over the years that she is game changer with the energy she brings to the game. She could be described as a “94 foot player,” because she is active from baseline to baseline. Her unique athleticism allows her to guard three positions on the court at any given time while also making her an exceptional rebounder on the glass.
Here is our latest eval on Jenkins:
7/6/11 – Fab Five Camp – Brandon Clay
Jenkins is a real athlete who jumps twice before others get forest service research paper up and down once. She’s shown good footwork on the block throughout. Jenkins catches with two hands and two feet under the ball consistently. Her calling card is her ability to makes plays on the glass and on the defensive end. Jenkins length and athleticism allow her to be effective at the head of the press. In that regard, she reminds me of Rachel McNair (NJ – 11, going to George Mason).
