The roster for Kirk Pointer’s team is exceptionally deep. Pointer is blessed with the ability to be able to sub a quality player off the bench at every position. However, the talent of this group starts in the backcourt with a duo of point guards. Khayla Pointer of Marietta, Ga., has the promise to be one of the top point guards in the Class of 2017. She has the ability to create plays with the juvenile diabetes research paper ball in her hands, while also being able to be a lockdown defender on the other end. That type of talent makes her one of the top point guards nationally in the Class of 2017. Playing next to Pointer in the backcourt is Zutorya Cook of Marietta, Ga. The four star point guard is fast with the ball in her hands. This tandem of Cook and Pointer make it very difficult for opposing guards to defend.

Playing opposite of the tough point guard duo is shooting guard Jada Lewis of Powder Springs, Ga. Lewis is a dead eye shooter who continues to add pieces to her game. However, one of the important glue players to the team is Quanniecia Morrison of Riverdale, Ga. The research paper on body image Class of 2017 forward is the consummate hustle player who finds ways to win 50-50 balls while also scoring in the paint. However, Team Elite is missing one of their most talented players in Erika Cassell of Marietta, Ga., this summer. Cassell, who is an Class of 2016 ELITE 100 Watch List post player, is out for the remainder of the summer with a knee injury. When Cassell returns, Kirk Pointer’s team will have an elite balance of guard and post play. Director of Scouting Keil Moore says “Kirk Pointer does a great job of coaching and developing the talent on his young squad. Although they are super talented, he never lets them get complacent. What is most exciting is the fact that Coach Pointer research paper topics on community service also has a 2018 group as well. We will be anxious to see how his youngest group begins to develop.” Team Elite will be center stage at two of Peach State’s biggest tournaments this summer. Check daily during the month of July for how Team Elite performs as well as for other girls’ basketball recruiting news.
