BrandonClayScouting.com Player Evaluations

Date: May 29, 2016
Evaluator: Brandon Clay
Location: Nike EYBL Session IV (Suwanee, Ga.)

Thompson leads Takeover in assists per game despite playing alongside Chris Lykes. At 3.9 assists per through 16 EYBL games, Thompson is one of the league leaders in that category. He has real end-to-end speed with the ball in his hands. Thompson is averaging 7.2 points, 2.9 rebounds per but shooting just 42 percent from the free throw line and 27 percent from the line.

Date: May 29, 2016
Evaluator: Jonathan Hemingway
Location: Nike EYBL Session IV (Suwanee, Ga.)

Thompson played off of the ball today while Chris Lykes handled the ball for the majority of the time. Although he was not initiating the action a high percentage of the time, he is still consistent in finishing plays and getting others involved. His ability to play in transition and on the defensive end will always give him value.

Thompson acted primarily as a distributor getting the ball to his teammates. The left handed lead guard only scored 4 points, but was the ball handling glue in this game.

Thompson can push the ball and finds his teammates on a roster full of college prospects. While doing all of that, he still finds spots to assert himself offensively too.

Thompson is fast point guard who can get downhill in a hurry. He plays strong as evidence by his 6 rebounds versus Chaminade HS today. He added 9 points and 7 rebounds, while only turning it over once.

Date: May 24, 2015
Evaluator: Jonathan Hemingway
Location: Nike EYBL (Minneapolis, Minn.)

The left handed point guard showed that he can get the offense going for his teammates. His production was very limited on the circuit as he averaged only 3 points per game and only hit 1-13 3pt jumpers on the season.

Thompson is a left-handed point guard who showed that he has the ball skill to make plays in the open floor. Thompson didn’t showcase an outside jumper in this eval.

Thompson is a young combo guard who played limited minutes vs. St. Anthony’s here this afternoon. The lefty was effective in the minutes he saw.

Thompson played well here in a matchup against Oak Hill. He was more impactful on this night than classmate Lindell Wigginton. Thompson attacked the lane off of the dribble finishing at the rim on multiple occasions.
