Technically we are right in the middle of signing week, though it has been anti-climatic this year.  The only major news that broke this year were the decisions of Tyler Scaife of Little Rock, Ark., to Rutgers and Brittany Dinkins of Miami, Fla., to Southern Mississippi, we still have a couple of storylines that are still left to be written.

The No. 19 player in the country, Ieshia Small of Tallahassee, Fla., is still undecided at this point and plans to make her college decision sometime in the spring. The No. 61 player in the country, Shanae Armbrister of South Broward, Fla., has been linked to both Florida State and Georgia. As of now we are unsure of what Armbrister plans to do school wise. Here a couple of other things to look for with a majority of scholarly paper writing services the class of 2013 prospects inked.

Programs Turn JUCO

One way for schools to still add talent is to turn to the junior college ranks and recruit some of the talent at that level.  Currently, there are a number of junior college prospects with Division I ability on the market. Here a few standouts:

Dominique Brooks – 6-foot-4 post who signed with Mississippi State out of high school.

Jessica Morton – A wing with quality athleticism and can get to the rim and make a play.

Achiri Ade – An athletic forward with good size who signed with James Madison out of high school.

Savanah Carter – She was one of the better scorers on the summer circuit two years ago. She played her first year of college ball at Grambling.

DeShawn Harden – She is a scoring-minded combo guard who played her first year of college basketball at literary analysis essay should include Oklahoma.

International Prospects

In addition to attacking the junior college ranks, a number of schools will look to the rest of the world to add talent to their roster. In recent years we have seen an influx of talent come from other country’s to play college basketball in the States, and not just at the mid-major level. There are a wealth of foreign contributors on college rosters now including, Allison Vernerey who is a French National playing at Duke, Taryn Wicijowski, a Canadian who plays at Utah, Anna Heise is from Germany and is playing her college basketball at Maine, and Cal guard Avigiel Cohen is an Isreali citizen playing at the PAC-12 school. Don’t be surprised to see a number of International additions on rosters in the spring.

Cal has again added a splash of European flavor with Hind Ben Abdelkader, a 5-7 point guard from Belgium.  Bryant picked up Chanel Ramcharran help with narrative essay of Ontario, Canada, a 5-7 point guard.  Albany also picked up a Canadian player in Cassandra Edwards, a 5-10 wing.  Nebraska added 6-1 wing Esther Ramacieri of Quebec, Canada.  Duquesne signed 5-10 wing Brianna Thomas from Notre Dame High School in Ontario, Canada, as well as 6-3 post Amadea Szamosi from Hungary.  Mississippi State has a commitment from Chinew Okonie, a 6-5 post from Nigeria.  And Tennessee State added Julie McCarthy, a 6-3 post from Norway.

The list of international players signing with Division I teams will grow exponentially in the late signing period as the prospects navigate the NCAA Clearinghouse and confirm their academic eligibility.

High School Talent Still Available

While the junior college and international ranks are great options for schools in need of talent in the 2013 class, there are still a number of quality undecided prospects in the United States. Last year we saw late signing period additions change types of writing essay the landscape of the class rankings, and while there aren’t as many undecided top 100 players this year, there are a couple value picks yet to make a decision.

Here are three names that could be steals for their school of choice.

6-2 Forward Khadijah West of Shreveport, La.,

5-8 Guard Tiffany Lewis of Murfreesboro, Tenn.

5-7 Point Guard Jazmin Horne of Seattle, Wash.

All three prospects were either standouts on the summer circuit or during the high school season.  They look poised to be recruited this winter.
