Tyler Scaife, Ronni Williams on the go — Visitation Nation — Sept. 7, 2012

This weekend, class of 2013 point guard the No. 9 ranked player in the ESPN HoopGurlz 100, Tyler Scaife of Little Rock, Ark., will make an official visit to Ohio State. She is starting this weekend with the first of what will be five official visits from her finalists — Kentucky, Louisiana State, Ohio State, Rutgers and Tennessee.

Ohio State will be looking for Scaife to help them replace some of the guard production that they will lose with the departures of Sammy Prahalis (2012) and Taylor Hill (2013) in consecutive years.  Scaife is known as one of the better pure scorers in the class of 2013 and would fair well in a role similar to that of Hill’s during her tenure as a Buckeye.

This is a big weekend for Baylor too.  Class of 2013 forward Ronni Williams of Daytona Beach, Fla., will be on campus for an official visit.  Williams, the No. 13 ranked player in the ESPN HoopGurlz 100, would be a welcome addition to the Big 12 school and defending NCAA National Champion Bears as they look to replace the production of Brittney Griner next season.

Williams is a versatile forward who has made a name for herself on the summer circuit playing both around the basket and on the perimeter.  Adding Williams to go along with a 2012 class, which included a pair of McDonald’s All-Americans from Florida in Alexis Prince and Niya Johnson, would be a strong step towards Baylor establishing recruiting ties in the Sunshine State.

Syracuse will host a pair of 2013 post players this weekend when twin sisters Bria and Brianna Day of Raleigh, N.C., make the trip to campus for their first official visit.  With The Orange’s move to the ACC, the staff has done well establishing recruiting roots in the southeast part of the country.  The Cuse’s 2012 class included players from Georgia and Tennessee and with the 2013 class they look toward the state of North Carolina for highly coveted post depth.  Brianna Day is currently the No. 57 ranked player in the class of 2013, while her sister, Bria, is a three-star recruit.

Around the Country

Class of 2013 forward Brianna Richardson of Atlanta, Ga., will make an official visit to Mississippi State this weekend. Richardson has scheduled visits with Auburn and South Florida and is in the process of scheduling one with Georgia.

Nina Davis of Memphis, Tenn., took an official visit to Baylor last weekend.  Davis was a standout this summer playing with the Tennessee Flight.

Class of 2013 guard Baylee Cox of Raleigh, N.C., is taking an official visit to Hampton this weekend.  Cox is being pursued by a majority of the mid major programs in the southeastern part of the country and is a highly sought after guard.
