New rivalries are bound to help on macbeth essay infuse excitement in the women’s game, especially with conference realignment.

To help kick off the 2013-14 season the #TeamPSB Analysts take on some important topics of this young season. The third topic we had each contributor give their thoughts on rivalries.

In the last decade we have lost UConn vs Tennessee and now UConn vs Notre Dame as huge rivalry games. Is there a rivalry of that magnitude that can emerge this season?

Keil Moore:

With conference realignment changing the landscape of college basketball around the country, there are a couple of intriguing rivalries that could possibly emerge in our sport. On the west coast, UCLA, California, and Stanford seems like an intriguing series. Kentucky and Louisville, a natural rivalry geographically, has potential to take off as well. That said, the yearly match ups between Notre Dame and Duke seem to be the next big thing. Two programs that recruit help personal statement against each other year in and year out and that are poised to battle for conference supremacy over at least the foreseeable future.

Brandon Clay:

Notre Dame vs. Duke

These two teams are now members of the same conference, meaning at least one guaranteed matchup each season for years to come. Both programs consistently find a way to sign top tier recruiting classes and feature multiple WNBA prospects on their current rosters. They will meet for the first time as ACC opponents on February 2nd in Durham and again on February 23rd in South Bend. Cameron Indoor Stadium should be packed with two teams that we fully expect to be in the top 10 in the country when they take the floor on those two Sundays in February.

Chris Hansen:

For this season I think Kentucky vs. Louisville could be a terrific matchup. Both teams essays on responsibility are highly ranked in the preseason. The two teams share a similar recruiting footprint. Both have high expectations and coming from the same state there is the natural rivalry piece as well.

Duke and Connecticut are playing for the fifth consecutive year and if Duke can close that gap on the court as they have in recruiting, this could be the marquee showdown in women’s basketball each winter.

Jonathan Hemingway:

With the amount of prep stars that are now choosing non-traditional powerhouse schools (i.e. – Kaela Davis to Georgia Tech and Diamond DeShields to North Carolina) I believe that you are going to see more rivalries develop in women’s basketball. That will be good for the game and certainly draw more interest regionally as well as nationally to the sport. I predict that the Georgia-Georgia Tech rivalry game will heat up in future years. Coach help on expository essay Andy Landers and MaChelle Joseph have consistently scheduled each other over the years. This in-state, pre-conference game in December is always a good recruiting opportunity for both programs. With the success that both programs have had as of late, I believe that this game will only grow in relevance.
