Taya Reimer of Fishers, Ind., was supposed to be here. We projected her to be one of the nation’s top prospects early in her high school career and she is currently ranked at No. 4 nationally by ProspectsNation.com. Reimer has certainly done the work to be ready to enter Notre Dame next fall and be an interior force right away.

Vitals

Three-time Elite Basketball Academy All-American
Height: 6’3” – Graduation Year: 2013
Current HS Position: PF – Projected College Pos: PF
School: Hamilton Southeastern HS – Location: Fishers, Ind.

Strengths

During her third EBA All-American Camp, Reimer came out and put on a show reminiscent of current Univ. of Tennessee freshman Bashaara Graves at last year’s camp. Reimer, a left-handed forward, was impressive in every facet of the game showing an increased willingness to attack smaller defenders and take them to the rim to score. Against bigger defenders, Reimer used her skill set to make jumper after jumper terrorizing the opposition in the process. Three USA Basketball team selections in the past two years have only enhanced her development.

Areas To Improve

Reimer has really improved her willingness to dominate the competition by reading her matchup advantage and not pre-determining her read. Continuing to play that way on the offensive end will put her in exclusive company at the college level. There are only a handful of players in the world with the skill set to play on the interior or on the perimeter like Reimer.

The Bottom Line

With her size and skill, Reimer is a matchup problem that most teams in the nation won’t have an easy answer on their roster to counter with. A new age power forward, she will bring both power and grace to the offensive end of the floor in South Bend while bringing interior rebounding and defense to the other end.
