Mitchell is arguably the nation’s most powerful guard regardless of class. She currently ranked No. 1 in the junior class by the JumpOffPlus.com National Report in large part to her power. It’s a rare combination for a high school prospect to move left to right with the basketball as well as she does downhill. The 5-foot-7 lefty can play either guard position though we project her as a scoring point guard long-term. Her court awareness and vision allow her to see the open player in almost instance sometimes before the open player even realizes that they are open. Once Mitchell steps inside 26 feet, she is well within her shooting range and her three-pointers on top of the arc go down as smooth as her layups do.

Area To Improve

Despite her early on-floor success, Mitchell will readily admit on camera that her off hand is a place for improvement. She’s shown over the course of the past year that her dedication to improving her game is real. Adding a consistent right hand to go along with her diversified skill set will help Mitchell as she aims to retain the top spot in class nationally.

The Bottom Line

There isn’t a more complete offensive lead guard in the country than Mitchell. Her unique ability to score the basketball puts her in a category few prep players are in. The wow factor that she brings to the floor coupled with the substance in her skill set gives Mitchell a chance to be a one of the torchbearers for the growth of the game.
