BUFORD, Ga. – The third annual Elite Basketball Academy All-American Camp brought talent from as far away as Mill Creek, Wash., and Playa Del Ray, Calif., to the Atlanta suburbs.  Here is a look at  a few of the dozens of players who had terrific performances at EBA 2012.

Te’a Cooper (Powder Springs, Ga.) — McEachern HS — 2015

The sophomore point guard is a consistent performer on every stage that she steps on these days.  Her poise and consistency often makes us forget she has only played one season of high school basketball to date.  In this elite setting, Cooper led her team to three victories and did it in impressive fashion.  At 5 feet 6 inches, she can set the table for her teammates or she can create shots for herself.  She is about as good as anyone in the country at using her strong frame on dribble penetration.  She was the engine on the most dominant team of the weekend at the EBA All-American Camp.

Spotlight Players

Mikayla Reese (Colorado Springs, Colo.) — Sandy Creek HS — 2014

The two time EBA All-American continues to add dimensions to her game.  The 5-8 combo guard consistently makes plays with the ball in her hands.  Reese was able to stand out in this camp by using her combination of strength and quickness to get to the mouth of the basket all weekend long.  As a recent commit to Oklahoma State University, she is proving that she can step in and be an impact player for the Cowgirls.

Erika Cassell

The young post player is the next big name to burst onto the girls’ basketball scene out of the Atlanta Metro Area.  She proved not only that she belonged amongst some of the nation’s best players, but also showed that she could make plays with them too.  The 6-1 post player reminds the EBA staff of current University of Georgia senior post player Jasmine Hassell with her build and strength.  Her agile feet allow her to move easily inside and outside of the paint.  She is a player whose production and potential have many excited about her future.

Parting Thoughts

Jackie Young showed her versatility during the camp.  The 2016 guard-forward accepted her role as a screener early on in camp.  However, it became apparent that the 5-10 Indiana-native can handle a number of roles including being driver, ballhandler and rebounder.

The buzz after the first set of games on Saturday was about Caliyah Robinson.  The 6-3 post elevated high off the ground to snag a couple of impressive rebounds.  She is easily one of the most talented post players in the 2015 class.

One of our favorite players of the entire camp was Alliyah Butts from New Jersey.  The hardnosed point guard simply goes about her business and continues to improve her overall skills each year.
