Evaluation

Brown is 5-foot-9 combo guard who just moved to Atlanta from the Orlando, Florida area this past summer. She is one the country’s top prospects in the Class of 2013 nationwide. Her penchant for the long range jumper is her calling card but Lexie is putting in the time on her ball handling to be an effective guard on or off the ball. An early University of Maryland verbal, she appears to be a quality pickup for a program looking history essay to get back to the top of the women’s basketball ladder once again.

Comfortable coming off of either hand to shoot the basketball, Brown possesses consistent shooting range out to 23 feet. By staying on her shot and not fading back as she releases the ball, a healthy Brown should emerge next summer as one of the country’s premier shooters regardless of class. Also, staying in the gym to continue to improve her handle and vocal command of a team during home work assignments a game are priorities to making her one of the top guards, if not the best, in the 2013 class before she graduates.

Defensively, Brown does a good job defending from left to right. Like most young players, continuing to understand opposing players tendencies and being able to make teammates understand what she sees will only enhance her worth to the Maryland roster upon arrival.
