Maryland is coming off of a 2012-13 season that saw them win 26 games and advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Coach Brenda Frese has established herself as one of the nation’s premier coaches and is the youngest active coach to have won a national championship.

Led by 2013 ACC Player of the Year, Alyssa Thomas, Frese and the 2013-14 edition of the Terrapins are out to do the same again. Thomas has emerged as arguably the nation’s most impactful forward over the course of her career. She appears to be a lock as free writing help online a top-3 pick in the WNBA Draft next spring. She’ll be joined in the quest for both an ACC and a national title by two key returners in center Alicia Devaughn and sharp shooting perimeter threat Katie Rutan.

Frese and her coaching staff went out and recruited plenty of help for this year’s group hauling in the nation’s No. 8 recruiting 2013 class according to ProspectsNation.com. The incoming freshman are spearheaded by Lexie Brown. Brown was the No. 15 ranked prospect overall and a two-game HS All-American last spring. She’ll bring both ball handling and the ability to create instant offense in a pinch to the Terrapins roster. All in all, this year’s lineup is homework schedule for kids as deep as any since the championship team in 2006. They’ll be tested in their last season as a member of an Atlantic Coast Conference that had six teams in the preseason AP Top 25.
