The Crimson Tide are under new leadership as Kristy Curry was announced as the new head coach in May of 2013. Curry has a career record of 309-149 in previous stops at Purdue and Texas Tech. She is no stranger to the NCAA Tournament going most recently in 2013 with Tech. In Alabama, Curry inherits a program that has struggled to find its way into postseason play. The Crimson Tide have not been to the NCAA Tournament great college admission essays since the 1998-99 season. Curry and her staff’s job will be to change that.

They’ll have perimeter scoring on this year’s roster led by Junior Guard Daisha Simmons. Simmons started her collegiate career at Rutgers before transferring to Alabama and sitting out the 2011-12 season. She is the leading returning scorer on this year’s roster and could be a possible SEC All-League team selection before the 2013-14 season comes to a close. The incoming freshman class is led by Karyla Middlebrook. The point guard was ranked as the No. 81 prospect in the class of 2013 nationally by ProspectsNation.com. The first year on the job in Tuscaloosa for coach Kristy Curry means restocking a roster that will be ready for competitive SEC play. Look for Curry to call upon Khadijah Carter to give the Tide early minutes.
