COLLEGE PARK – Maryland will look to win one for the ACC standings in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge before they cross conference lines into the Big Ten in 2014-15. Coach Brenda Frese‘s team is hungry for another conference title after winning their last one in 2012. They also have a national championship in the trophy case from the 2005-2006 season. We’ll keep a running blog of our thoughts from the game.

FIRST HALF

19:30 – Sr. Post Alicia DeVaughn wastes no time getting the home team on the board.

18:45 – Jr. Forward Alyssa Thomas with the tough finish and the And1. The Terps immediately apply ball pressure at the half line.

18:17 – Ohio State with a little token pressure of their own after a couple of free throws.

17:03 – Thomas back at the line making one of two but DeVaughn cleans up the miss with a outback. 8 to 4 Maryland.

15:55 – RS Jr. Guard Laurin Mincy chips in early with an offensive rebound off of a missed shot in the paint.

15:37 – Fr. Lexie extended essay online help Brown gets on the board with a basket. A Retro Rewind as a prep. 12 to 8 Maryland.

14:58 – Thomas is such a gifted player. She just made a 45 foot left-handed pass on a rope.

13:57 – Brown picks up her second on an offensive foul call. So. Guard Brene Moseley checks in for her.

13:25 – So. Post Malina Howard back into the game and knocks down two free throws. 15 to 11 Maryland.

11:45 – Fr. Forward Shatori Walker-Kimbrough knocks down two free throws to make it 17 to 13 in favor of the home team.

11:06 – Thomas back to the line this time making both of them for a 19 to 15 lead.

10:35 – Maryland is making a living from the free throw line early. Moseley hits one of two. 20 to 17 Maryland.

8:45 – RS Jr. Katie Rutan takes a perfectly executed charge on OSU’s Raven Ferguson. The Terps haven’t scored in a couple of minutes but neither have the Buckeyes.

7:25 – A nice drive by Thomas sends the left-handed forward back to the line. She was named the 2012-13 ACC Player of the Year for good reason. She makes one and makes it 21 to 19.

5:55 – Fr. Post Brianna Jones joins high school research paper writing help in on the scoring with a basket. 23 to 19 Terps.

4:30 – Good turnout for a Wednesday night game with the men playing a televised game on the road at the same time.

2:30 – Took a couple of minutes but Thomas gets Maryland back rolling with a smooth 12 foot jump shot to make it 25-22.

:55 – Mincy with another basket to be it 27-24.

:22 – So. Forward Tierney Pfirman with a basket to close out the half.

HALFTIME SCORE: 29-26 Maryland

SECOND HALF

19:20 – Thomas picks up right where she left off to finish the first with a basket.

18:37 – DeVaughn finishes around the cup. 33-28 Maryland.

18:18 – Moseley starts the second half while Brown is on the bench with three fouls. She calmly knocks down a 3-pointer from the corner to extend the lead to eight.

17:55 – Another Thomas basket stretches the lead to 38 to 28 and forces Ohio State to use a timeout to try and stop the run.

16:30 – Thomas scores her 14th and 15th points respectively on a nice finish. Still a double-digit lead at 40-30.

15:30 – In unison, the band sings a nice rendition of “Just A Friend.” I my future essay writing in hindi can appreciate that during an opposing team free throw.

15:20 – On the other end, another crisp pass from Thomas. This time, Pfirman is the recipient for a chip shot. 43-33 Maryland.

12:50 – Thomas with an offensive rebound and a putback to make it 45 to 35.

11:20 – Rutan with a slick 17 foot pull-up jump shot off of the strong hand (right) dribble. 47 to 40 Maryland.

10:35 – Thomas again. She now has 19 on the night so far. 49 to 40 Maryland.

9:40 – Before I could press update, Thomas scores four more points. Make that 21 on the night.

9:07 – DeVaughn is back at it on the interior scoring on a smooth pocket pass from Rutan. 53 to 42 Maryland.

8:53 – Picking up a third personal is the only thing that has slowed Thomas down this half.

8:29 – Jones gets to the free throw line making one of two shots. 54-47 Maryland.

6:45 – Shots just aren’t falling for Brown tonight but her talent is evident. Going to be a good one here in College Park.

5:00 – Brown finds Walker-Kimbrough for a 6-foot floater. 56-49 Maryland.

2:40 – As great shooters do, Brown stays confident on a tough night hitting a HUGE 3-pointer from the right corner to make the lead to 59-53.

2:12 – Moseley follows that with a tough open floor finish at the rim to stretch it to 8 with 2:08 to play. Gotta love the resiliency of this group. They keep finding ways to hold Ohio State at bay. 61 to 53 Maryland.

1:30 – Guess who with the offensive rebound??? Thomas strikes again and makes both free throws. Just like that it’s 63 to 53 Terps.

1:15 – Moseley with two more free throws to make it a 10-point game again at 65-55.

:57 – Thomas in the process of icing this one with two free throws to give her 25 on the night. 67-55 Maryland.

FINAL SCORE: 67-55 Maryland
