Howard has grown so much physically since we first got in the gym together years ago. Just a freshman in high school, she appears to have a lot of room left to grow still both physically and skill wise. Howard’s willingness to put extra work in has been on display for years. As a result, she is more productive each time we train. The next step is getting used to attacking off the 1-2 into her jumper.

Howard is on pace to train with our staff as much as any prospect in recent memory before she finishes high school. As a result of her dedication, we’re starting to see the fruits of her time and effort. She was able to compete and train with some of the top high school kids within a two-hour radius of the gym and not miss a beat. In those situations, becoming a consistent knockdown jump shooter will allow Howard to take advantage of drive and kick shot opportunities.

The first thing our staff noticed about Howard in this setting is how she’s growing physically. She’s long been a prospect who has the evident skill needed to be a factor on the hardwood. Now the size is coming along to compliment that. As Howard keeps filling out, we’ll be able to take her game to the next level.

This was my second time working with Howard. The first thing that has jumped out to me in both sessions is her willingness to be coached and pushed at a young age. Add that to her maturity skill wise and the recipe is there for sustained future success.

Howard was one of the youngest at the camp, but there was no question that she was also one of the toughest. Although being outsized by some of the elder kids at the camp, she went toe to toe with the best and tried to hold her own. Her willingness to stick her nose into competitive situations is very notable. On the skill side, Howard has an advanced skill set for her age. She can handle the ball well and uses ball fakes to get the defender leaning in the wrong direction. Her willingness to drive the ball and finish at the rim was a pleasant surprise. Howard still has room to improve with her ball handling.
