Thompson is a hybrid forward with a build like Cyril Langevine. However, Thompson showed more offensive skill than Langevine today. He is great in the mid range where he can use his touch and footwork to score over and around defenders. He finished with 23 points on 7-14 shooting. He added 16 rebounds and 4 assists in a win over Vermont Academy.

Thompson is a big man with good feet. He is mobile enough to move from the top of the key to rim effectively. He showed that he could finish with his left hand on the move as well. He is good enough to defend either the center position or a bigger 4 player. He finished the circuit averaing 8.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.

Thompson is a post player that plays primarily on the interior for his high school team. He is mobile in that he can set the pin down on the perimeter and slip to the rim and finish off of the move. He has great footwork with his back to the basket. He is a little mechanical, but he his effective. He finished with 8 points on 4/5 shooting.
