BrandonClayScouting.com Player Evaluations

Date: October 12, 2017
Evaluator: Brandon Clay
Location: USA Basketball Mini-Camp (Colorado Springs, Colorado)

Barnes is an elite level athlete who was most effective in transition here. He runs the floor extremely well with the bounce to raise up and make a play around the rim at any moment. Barnes release on his outside shot has a bit of a push to it right now.

Date: May 15, 2017
Evaluator: Jonathan Hemingway
Location: Indi Hoops Tip-Off Classic (Suwanee, Georgia)

Barnes is a lanky wing-forward who’s stature and skill set immediately remind me of Brandon Ingram. He has good athleticism to finish above the rim and a perimeter jumper that showed flashes of being even more consistent. He showed terrific footwork on the hard hedge of a ball screen, which could be ultimately the most important attribute that he has.
