Japhet-Mathias is a huge prospect on the interior at the center position. He played limited minutes in this eval not displaying a specialty.

Japhet-Mathias played only 5 games on the circuit this spring. He played limited minutes behind Omari Spellman and Kassoum Yakwe. In these limited minutes he did show some footwork and ball fakes in the lane. He even fanned the ball out of the post. His impact was far from what we saw in the high school season this winter.

Mathias has the complete skill package as a center on the floor. He showed footwork on the up and under move with his back to the basket then followed that up with a face up jumper. He has a motor as he will run the floor and rebound on both ends. If there is a knock, he has some baby fat left on him. However, he is skilled and productive at the end of the day. He finished with 13 points while shooting 85% from the floor in his attempts today.
