BrandonClayScouting.com Player Evaluations

Date: June 18, 2016
Evaluator: Brandon Clay
Location: NBPA Top 100 Evals (Charlottesville, VA)

Martin continues to show himself as a solid option at the point guard position. He makes shots and hit a tough reverse layup in traffic. Martin is a steady hand at the point guard spot in a camp full of Top 100 caliber prospects.

Evaluator: Jonathan Hemingway
Location: Nike EYBL Session IV (Suwanee, Ga.)

Martin is a smaller point guard that produces. He makes shots and is a solid floor general. There are reasons to doubt his game, because of his lack of size or elite athleticism – but his 12 points and 4.4 assists per game while shooting over 36% from 3pt range speaks for itself.

Evaluator: Brandon Clay
Location: Nike EYBL Session IV (Suwanee, Ga.)

Martin is a steady hand at the point guard spot for the Phamily. He is averaging 12.3 points, 4.4 assists and 4.1 rebounds on 85 percent from the line / 41 percent from beyond the arc.

Date: January 17, 2016
Evaluator: Jonathan Hemingway
Location: Hoop Hall Classic (Springfield, Mass.)

Martin is a high energy guard who can split time as a PG or SG. He is aggressive with the dribble as he probes for weaknesses in the defense. He finished with 13 points on 4-11 shooting and added 5 assists and 3 rebounds in a loss to Montverde Academy.

Date: May 24, 2015
Evaluator: Jonathan Hemingway
Location: Nike EYBL Session IV (Minneapolis, Minn.)

Martin is a speedy guard who is great in transition. He hits the gaps and can knock down the pull-up jumper effectively. He has surprising athleticism. He averaged 12 points per game, but did not do it efficiently as he only shot 36% from the field and 30% from 3pt line.

Date: December 22, 2014
Evaluator: Brandon Clay
Location: City of Palms (Fort Myers, Fla.)

Martin is a combo guard with good size. He played on the ball at times alongside Devearl Ramsey (CA-16). Though Martin didn’t display a specialty, he was steady finishing with 8 points, 4 assists and 3 steals in this one.

Remy split time in the backcourt at the point position with Devearl Ramsey today. Martin did most of his damage with the jumper today and he slashed to the bucket and found ways to get to the foul line. His body control while hanging in the air is impressive and showed he could take the bump and finish. His release at the foul line is high.
