BrandonClayScouting.com Player Evaluations

Date: January 15, 2017
Evaluator: Jonathan Hemingway
Location: Hoop Hall Classic (Springfield, Mass.)

Bamba’s strength is as a defender and rebounder. He affects more shots than he blocks even though he blocks a lot. He is not a primary scoring option right now, but he will get off side rebounds and put backs. However, when he was matched up versus Deandre Ayton in this one his points dried up. He finished with 9 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks in this match up with Hillcrest Prep.

Bamba notched a triple double in a match-up vs. Eduka Azuibike today. His incredible length single handedly changed the game in favor of Westtown. He blocked shots and altered many more that held Potters House to 7 second half points. Bamba is a smart defender and will not pick up dumb fouls, which makes him a very valuable interior defender. He showed range on his jumper while also hitting jump hooks. He finished with a final stat line of 13 points, 18 rebounds and 10 blocked shots.

Evaluator: Jonathan Hemingway
Location: NBPA Top 100 Camp (Charlottesville, Va.)

Bamba is a physical specimen with incredibly long arms. He showed the ability to block shots out of his area while also finishing shots on the other end. He even showed some footwork on the low block to be able to finish around post defenders. His game still has polishing left to make, but he could one of the highest ceilings in the class.

Bamba is long combo type in the post who attacked Joey Brunk (IN-16) with his athleticism to the rim. Bamba is an energy guy who is also a shot changer by specialty based on his play here.
