Mackey stood his ground among the older, more mature players at this camp. Just entering high school this year, Mackey is just beginning his journey as a basketball player. However, he demonstrated that he has many of the skills necessary to be successfull in years to come. As a point guard he kept his head up and found open players in transition. His willingness to get everyone involved in the play will be key for him as a point guard. Defensively he showed very good footwork and awareness when his man did not have the ball. Although he is a few years away from impressing his will upon the game with physicality, he has what is most improtant right now – the defensive IQ to be in the right spot consistently.
