BrandonClayScouting.com Player Evaluations

Date: June 18, 2016
Evaluator: Brandon Clay
Location: NBPA Top 100 Evals (Charlottesville, VA)

Perry had a high level summer. He’s a distributor who will pass the rock who battled Lavar Batts. Perry hasn’t shown that he can consistently stretch the defense with the outside shot.

Date: May 15, 2016
Evaluator: Jonathan Hemingway
Location: Bob Gibbons Invitational (Suwanee, Ga.)

Perry is a point guard who balances distributing with making plays. He is not as consistent of a play-maker as Alterique Gilbert was last year, but he has a similar style. He used good body control to finish in traffic today.

Date: December 22, 2015
Evaluator: Brandon Clay
Location: City of Palms Classic (Fort Myers, Fla.)

Perry scored the ball finishing with 24 points and 8 boards. In the process, he turned it over 8 times to just 1 assist. Perry’s long term progression will hinge on his ability to protect the basketball regardless of which guard position he plays.

Perry is a skilled point guard who showed he could hit the 3in transition or deliver the ball to his teammates. He finished with 18 points in a win over Wesleyan Christian.

Perry really showed that he could be an alpha guard here today. He played a shooting guard and moved very effectively off of screens to find his jumper. He has a type of game that puts me in the mind of Alterique Gilbert when things are clicking. He can jab and drive and finish effectively in transition.

Perry was solid here. He made a tough reverse finish in the lane only taking two shots inside the arc. He was 2-for-6 from beyond the arc, 4-4 from the line finishing with 12 points and one assist.

Perry has grown physically in the past year that we have evaluated him. He played off the ball here this week as a shooting guard. He was good in transition where he finished effectively. He shot the ball ok on day 2 versus Paul VI as he hit 2 of 5 3-point jumpers. In all he did not score in double digits in either game, but he did not try to do too much either.

Date: April 13, 2014
Evaluator: Jonathan Hemingway
Location: Norman Parker Showcase (Suwanee, Ga.)

Perry is a point guard who handles the ball well as PG on this talented Game Elite team. He showed depth to his game today as he hit jumpers in the mid-range while also running the team. He also proved to be a pest at guard the ball in the full court.

Date: March 15, 2014
Evaluator: Brandon Clay
Location: The Elite Preview (Norcross, Ga.)

Perry is a smooth lead guard who likes to pass the basketball. He’s a good athlete with a slender build. He drew a charge and made a nice pocket pass of off the pick and roll.
