BrandonClayScouting.com Player Evaluations

Date: December 5, 2015
Evaluator: Brandon Clay
Location: Breakdown Classic (Minneapolis, Minn.)

McCaffery has improved leaps and bounds with his court presence since last year. He’s always been a talented prospect but his game was on full display here leading Iowa City West. The future Hawkeye was both efficient and precise with his play.

Much like our June eval, McCaffery showed that he can let it fly. He was feeling it here today. The left-handed guard appears to be one of the better shooters in the class nationally at this point.

Location: Nike Elite 100 Camp (St. Louis, Mo.)

McCaffrey played more off of the ball here displaying a smooth left hand jump shot. He did play some on the ball but struggled to create downhill versus the elite level play at times. He made multiple solid post feeds from the wing and played with the high IQ that we would expect from longtime coach Fran McCaffery’s son.
