Reid Walker has diligently developed himself as a player on the court and as a student in the classroom. His achievements have earned him attention from college coaches and evaluators over the past twelve months. See his latest evaluation from EBATop40 Camp in March here –> Reid Walker

When Walker began playing basketball, he began as a center. Today the 6-foot-4 wing mixes perimeter skill with a nose for the interior. Reid explains, “I was bigger than everyone else in fifth grade. I was good at getting to the basket, because of my size. I have worked hard on developing my ball handling and shooting range.”

Today, Walker is being recruited as a small forward who has range to the arc as well still being able to rebound his position. He averaged a solid 14 points, 5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game for Seffner Christian during the high school season. Yet the most impressive part of Walker’s background may come off the court. The junior at Seffner Christian sports a 4.3 weighted GPA while also scoring a 30 on the ACT and a 1960 on the SAT.

With those type of scores it is apparent why he has taken unofficial visits to high academic institutions like Brown, Darmouth, Holy Cross and Stonehill College. He intends on taking more visits this summer, but those plans are still in the works according to Walker.

In terms of his immediate goals, Walker talks about his Tampa Titan teammates. “Our goal is to play well and play together as a team. The goal for travel ball is always to get exposure, but it is most fun when we play well together.”

In fact Walker says that chemistry is what is most fun about basketball to him. He says, “I really like basketball because of the friendships and the time spent with teammates. Basketball is the best when you play the sport that you love with your friends.”

Walker also talks about his work to improve is far from over. He explains, “The goal is to make at least 1,000 shots per week. My improvement is far from over.”

Walker says that the best case scenario would be to sign a scholarship in the early signing period. There is still work left to be done in between now and then, but expect Walker to keep his steady progression upward in the meantime.
