Lonzo Ball – (Chino Hills, Calif.), Chino Hills – 2016
Height: 6’4″
Position: Point Guard
Committed College: UCLA
Star Grade:
5-star

Date: December 22, 2015
Evaluator: Brandon Clay
Location: City of Palms (Fort Myers, Fla.)

Ball is a phenomonal passer. His jump shot is a little flat but goes in enough to keep opposing defenses honest. Ball is at his best when facilitating to his teammates. In that way, he reminds me of Shaun Livingston before the injuries.

Of all the 5-star point guards in the class, Ball might have the most pro-ready body of them all. He is an elite passer with an incredible feel for the game. His team’s transition style lends well to his skill set where he can play with freedom. Equally effective is his ability to rebound from the guard spot. He even blocked two shots in the final moments of a win vs. Thomas Jefferson to ensure the win. While Ball is a decent shooter, his form is somewhat awkward & should be something to watch moving forward in his development.

Ball is a smooth option with length at the 1. He is capable of facilitating the action, getting into the lane to score or hitting the open jump shot. In that regard, his style is similar to classmate Jared Harper (GA) but Ball has every bit of six if not seven inches on him.
