Jalen Brunson – (Vernon Hills, Ill.), – Mac Irvin – 2015
Height: 6’2″
Position:  Point Guard
Committed College: Villanova

Location: Nike EYBL Peach Jam (North Augusta, S.C.)

Brunson matched up with Team Final in the game that I sat on this week. What immediately strikes me about Brunson’s game is his poise as a ball handler and a play maker. He can get defenders leaning one direction and blow past them the other way. He endured Team Final’s pressure notably and although he did not score the ball at a high rate he certainly made plays for those around him. He is a good athlete and continues to have the mindset of a scorer and a play-maker. Again I did not see range on his jumper today, but his form is solid. His performance today solidified him as one of the 7-8 point guards nationally.

Brunson is a left-handed lead guard who can score the ball in a flas. He is apt to finish at the bucket and uses his athleticism and body control to do that effectively. I  didn’t see a jumper in this setting, he reminds me of a more talented Damon Wilson (NY-15) who has committed to Pittsburgh.
