Esa Ahmad – (Shaker Heights, Ohio.), – All Ohio – 2015
Height: 6’8″
Position:  Small Forward
Committed College: West Virginia

Ahmad embraces the role of a distributor. Although he has the height and length to play on the interior, he likes to handle as a lead handler for this team. He keeps a nice pace to his game and he is versatile too. He will post up in spots. However, I walked away do my c assignment for me from this game today wondering what would his position be at the next level? And where will he be most effective?

Ahmad has a college ready frame right now. In a matchup with class Luke Maye (NC), they played to an even draw. That said Ahmad’s lack of a definitive perimeter specialty in the two evals that I have in the last month could make him better suited to play at the 4 spot to get matched up with slower forwards at least early in his career.

Ahmad played a bit more on the interior in this setting. He did drive the ball when he faced up on the perimeter. He lacked a left handed finish when posting which made his finishes a bit inconsistent. He has a great build for the forward spot.

Ahmad is a big wing who can handle in the half court set. He will post at times to get in the flow of the offense. He’s not a dominant scorer by nature but does make plays. His game reminds me of classmate Elijah Burns essay on my dream destination switzerland (NY).
