Harper was a steady hand in this eval. He didn’t have the free reign offensively that he does in EYBL or HS play but was effective still. His skill coupled with his shiftiness make him a high level prospect at the next level

Harper is a point guard who improves with eval. His skill set is sharp as he is both a shooting specialist and distributor. Harper’s consistency has been impressive in both games that I watched this weekend.

Harper showed real shooting range plus the ability to use the high screen and roll to get downhill. When the defender went under, the four-star point guard calmly stuck the 3-pointer. In a marquee matchup with classmate D’Marcus Simonds of Buford, Ga., Harper went toe-to-toe providing a show that stole the spotlight on the camp’s opening day. With a full slate of Honors and Advanced Placement class on his schedule, Harper gets it done in the classroom as well.

Harper’s progression is definitely worth noting. He has played well this summer showing consistent range to the 3-point line though with a slightly awkward delivery. Harper is a distributor with the rock and in that regard a specialist.

Harper was better here than he was in March. He’s tiny but skilled. His handle is both smooth and slick. Harper has good quickness and can shoot the open 3-pointer.

Harper was the smallest person on the court but had the most heart. He was the go to guy for the stampede throughout the game. He does a good job of running the court in transition spotting up along the perimeter where he was able to effectively knock down jumpers. In the half court set he did a good job of running off screens and knocking down jumpers. He was 7/10 from behind the arc.

Harper is a small point guard with good speed and change of direction with the ball. He’s an average jump shooter based on his play here today.

Location: OTR Fall Showcase (Atlanta, Ga.)

Although small and a limited amount of athleticism, Harper possesses a great IQ and skill for the game. He shoots the ball exceptionally well when he gets space and does a great job of delivering the ball to teammates in positions to score.
