For the record, Class of 2017 post Jontay Porter of Columbia, Mo., is a player. His move to the 2017 class will pay dividends for the Missouri Tigers in a big way. His progress over the past two seasons even lends itself to him being NBA-ready before his natural college graduation day in 2021. Porter is a legitimate factor in the frontcourt with the ability to stretch opposing defenses out to the 3-point line with his jumper. His family lineage and connection to the Tigers is well documented but Jontay’s resume stands on its’ own two feet these days. His play was good enough to warrant interest and offers from nearly every major university. In addition, he would have been on my early season Naismith Trophy Player of the Year Watch List ballot as well.
