SUGAR HILL, Ga. – The Elite Basketball Academy Top 40 Workout is designed to bring some of the nation’s top prospects together to compete and showcase their skills in front of BrandonClayScouting.com and OTRHoopsReport.com evaluators.

Tariq Jenkins, Team 4 (Rex, Ga.), Jonesboro HS – 2018

Jenkins demonstrated a number of skills that should make him a productive player in future years. He has live legs that allows him to get downhill versus defenders with the ball in his hands. However, as he showed at camp, he can also use that athleticism to shoot the gaps on the defensive end. This versatility should point to future productivity for the junior guard. At 5-foot-10 he does a good job of balancing attacking the rim and involving his teammates with the pass. We will be watching Jenkins in future months to come.

Max May, Team 6 (Clemson, Ga.), Daniel HS – 2018

May made the most of his opportunity at the Fall Workout. The 6′ guard proved that he belonged in a gym filled with potential college prospects even though he had not played a single minute of high school basketball as of yet. He showed the understanding of how to play his position on the wing. His skills are solid and should continue to round out as he spends more time in the gym. May showed a nice step back jumper at one point in game play, which points greater things in the future.

Anthony Showell, Team 2 (Duluth, Ga.), Duluth HS – 2016

There is no drop off in the play of Showell in this viewing. He consistently created plays with the ball once again and stood out as one of the better point guards at the camp. He has physically matured since we last saw him in the spring. What will ultimately set Showell apart from other guards in the future is the fact that he can blend his athleticism with a high IQ on the court. Watch for Showell to lead the Wildcats of Duluth while making a run towards the post season in region 7-AAAAAA.
